What is Spiritual Awareness?
Spiritual Awareness is a time set aside at Citizens of Zion whereby we leave the formal setting and gather in an informal setting as a church family. We leave our formal attire at home and put on our informal attire. We gather together to discuss the “things” that are relevant to our everyday living. Tangible things, things that are in our homes, things that are in our families, things that are on our jobs, things that are in our churches, things that exist whether or not we believe in them. Together, as a CZ family, we talk about these things honestly and open-minded. However, the objective of our gathering is not to eat a delicious meal. It is, however, the time we gather to feast on the Spiritual food that is found in the Word of God. We talk about how God’s Word directs us when we face these “things” in life that affect us in so many ways. After feasting on God’s Word and allowing the Holy Spirit to serve you, you will leave each session full and looking for more.
Therefore if you’re hungry and would like to feast on such a meal each month, join us at Citizens of Zion to be fed such a meal. The exciting aspect of Spiritual Awareness is that each session contains a menu that changes each month.
The menu entitled “Equipping For Perfection” Hebrews 6:1
includes the following Spiritual food:
Now that your stomach is groaning and your taste buds are dripping with anticipation, let me tell you when and where you can get this Spiritual food. The location is Citizens of Zion MBC located at 12930 Lime Avenue in the city of Compton, CA. Each of these meals is served from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Come and be filled with the Word of God. You do not have to be a member of Citizens of Zion to attend. The invitation is extended to all because the Spiritual food from God’s Word is extended to all that will hear.
Also we want you to know that we provide “take-out” for those who are unable to attend. You say “what is a take-out and how can I get one?” Let me explain: take-out is when you request a copy or copies of the written Spiritual food presented for a particular session. Your request will be filled and your “take-out” will be ready in the following manner: a copy of each month’s lesson will be placed in the magazine rack located in the church’s lobby for your pleasure. If and when the copies have been depleted, a request form will be available at the rear of the copies in order for you to request additional copies if applicable. Once the form has been completed, you are to take the completed form to the Resource Center. By the way, for those of you who did not know, it is the building, with the red canapé, facing you to your left as you exit the sanctuary through the glass doors facing Lime Avenue. When your request has been fulfilled, the Resource Center will either call you or you can simply stop by at anytime to access the status of your request. Future plans are also being evaluated with the goal of making copies of each Spiritual Awareness lesson accessible via the church’s website.
In conclusion, we look forward to another year of healthy and delicious Spiritual food from the Chefs that makes up our Spiritual Awareness team. They are ready to present Spiritual meals prepared especially for you by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we hope to see you at the next Spiritual Awareness session. And keep in mind that the invitation is extended to ALL just as God’s love is extended to all.
